Kara Griswold received her Master’s of School Leadership from St. Michael’s College in Colchester, VT and her BS from The University of Maine at Farmington in Special Educator. Kara taught as a Middle School and High School Special Educator in both Maine and Vermont for 12 years. The past nine years she has been a Special Education Director in Addison Northwest School District. At ANWSD Kara was part of the leadership team that implemented the use of Structured Literacy across the district in grades K-12 improve the literacy outcomes for all learners. In the Spring of 2023, Kara was the recipient of the Gail Lynk Special Education Administrator Award. Currently, Kara works part time for VTHEC teaching graduate courses and part time at the Bellcate School. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, riding her horse, hiking and reading.
