Human Resources Director – Part Time
Human Resources Director: Part-Time – 80% with Option for Full-Time
The Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of all human resources activities and functions. The HR Director ensures organizational compliance, promotes staff engagement, assists fellow leaders in building and developing talented and purpose-driven workforce, and supports the President and leadership team in pursuit of mission-aligned strategic objectives. As a member of the leadership team, the HR Director is a key driver of organizational development, a strategic planner, an operational expert, and a compassionate and committed champion of our mission.
- BA Degree and five or more years of progressive HR Leadership experience with PHR/SPHR preferred.
- Significant experience in and/or knowledge of applicable human resource related statutes and regulations such as ADA, ADEA, COBRA,FMLA,ADA,FLSA,HIPAA,OSHA and Title Vll of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
- Expertise on employee relations, leadership development, organizational development, safety and legal compliance, talent management and compensation and benefits.
- Demonstrated successful leadership and teamwork aptitude, top-notch and timely communication skills, and ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Savvy relationship-builder able to collaborate and motivate, and to challenge when needed.
- Strong business acumen and project management skills with ability to think analytically.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality output
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to showcase the organization’s mission, program, and services clearly and concisely.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred
- Bachelor degree preferred

Part-Time Instructor – In Person
Part-Time Instructor – In-Person
We are currently seeking a part-time instructor to join our highly experienced and collaborative team. Qualified instructors will have explicit teaching skills in the area of reading, writing, mathematics, and/or study skills to work one-on-one with students. Preferred candidates will hold Special Education certification. Our instructional programs include a 6-week summer intensive program, and a 36-week school year program. We are seeking candidates available for the summer and into the upcoming school year.

Full-Time Structured Literacy Instructor (Hybrid)
Full-Time Structured Literacy Instructor (Hybrid)
If you’re a qualified educator with training and experience in structured literacy instruction, this rewarding role allows focus and impact, teaching one-on-one to make a positive difference every day. Preferred candidates will have training in Orton-Gillingham and/or Wilson, and/or have Special Education certification. This position includes the Stern Center’s 6-week summer program through the 2023-24 school year. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills, an understanding of research-based interventions, and experience in developing individualized learning plans.

School Psychologist for Full-Time Evaluator Position
School Psychologist for Full-Time Evaluator Position
The Stern Center for Language and Learning is seeking an experienced clinical or school psychologist to join our collaborative and highly experienced team of evaluators. Our evaluation team administers and interprets psychoeducational and/or developmental tests for children and adults to identify specific learning disabilities, attention deficit (ADHD), autism, intellectual giftedness, and learning differences. We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in language and reading. The position will provide the qualified applicant with an opportunity to train with a national-level specialist in the field of literacy and reading disorders.
Required Qualifications:
- Expertise in performing cognitive and educational evaluations, scoring and interpreting results, and developing individualized recommendations to support performance in schools, in the home, and in the workplace
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school teams
- Strong writing skills
- Willingness to work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong clinical skills in differential diagnosis and research-based treatment of language/learning abilities and disabilities
- Experience in documenting the need for accommodations in those seeking post-secondary and graduate-level training
- Expertise in the diagnosis of autism and behavioral disorders
- Experience in the design of behavioral support plans
Speech-Language Pathologist
Speech-Language Pathologist
We are looking for a dynamic professional who possesses expertise in speech and language pathology and Social Thinking to provide small group and individualized instruction for people with communication and/or social understanding challenges.
Our ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of research-based interventions, be able to develop treatment plans for the specific needs of our clients, and will successfully interface with students, parents, school teams, and other professionals.
Specific duties include:
- Provide in-person SLP instruction, some off-site and online service provision may be required
- Develop curriculum for group or individual instruction
- Develop instructional goals and objectives
- Collect and analyze data
- Work collaboratively with team members
- Attend Team meetings
- Communicate effectively with parents and school team members
- Maintain facility and materials: light cleaning, organizing
- Utilize strong communication skills
