OG Certified Literacy Instructor
The Stern Center located in Williston, Vermont is seeking an OG Certified instructor to join our highly experienced and collaborative team of teachers. If you’re a qualified educator with training and experience in structured literacy instruction, this rewarding role allows focus and impact, teaching one-on-one to make a positive difference every day.
Candidates should be certified in Orton-Gillingham or have had training in Orton-Gillingham and/or Wilson. Our ideal candidate will also have exceptional communication and organizational skills, an understanding of research-based interventions, and experience in developing individualized learning plans.
Specific duties include:
•Administer and interpret pre- and post-instructional assessments
•Create specific academic goals and objectives for each student
•Communicate with parents, schools, teachers, and special educators
•Strong progress monitoring and reporting skills

The starting salary range for this position is $54,000 to $57,000 annually.

Psychologist for Full-Time Evaluator Position
The Stern Center for Language and Learning is seeking an experienced clinical or school psychologist to join our collaborative and highly experienced team of evaluators. Our evaluation team administers and interprets psychoeducational and/or developmental tests for children and adults to identify specific learning disabilities, attention deficit (ADHD), autism, intellectual giftedness, and learning differences. We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in language and reading. The position will provide the qualified applicant with an opportunity to train with a national-level specialist in the field of literacy and reading disorders.
Required Qualifications:
- Expertise in performing cognitive and educational evaluations, scoring and interpreting results, and developing individualized recommendations to support performance in schools, in the home, and in the workplace
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school teams
- Strong writing skills
- Willingness to work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong clinical skills in differential diagnosis and research-based treatment of language/learning abilities and disabilities
- Experience in documenting the need for accommodations in those seeking post-secondary and graduate-level training
- Expertise in the diagnosis of autism and behavioral disorders
- Experience in the design of behavioral support plans
Director of Mission Growth & Communications
The Stern Center located in Williston, Vermont is seeking a Director of Mission Growth and Communications to join our professional team of leaders. This role will build and implement the strategies that will expand the reach of the Stern Center’s mission and grow the organization’s service and philanthropic revenue. The person in this role will propose, create, and execute compelling communications and marketing tactics for key audiences, new and existing. They will create content and build systems that enhance brand visibility and consistency, boost connection and engagement across stakeholder audiences, and grow the client and donor pipelines. This person will also collaborate, evaluate, and deliver results.
This job will:
- Focus on strategy and tactics that increase acquisition and participation to achieve revenue goals
- Use clear measures to demonstrate success
- Seize storytelling opportunities at a pace that reflects our mission urgency, identifying and communicating the impact of our work and of philanthropic support
- Build and track a pipeline of clients and donors, with corresponding communication plans segmented appropriately
- Create compelling content across platforms (digital, social media, print, video) to inspire new and existing audiences to engage with the Stern Center as clients, donors, alumni, partners, employees, etc.
- In close consultation with the President and CFOO, implement strategies for donor and client communications, engagement, and operations that drive attraction, satisfaction, and retention for these key audiences
- Support fundraisers and development operations as a key member of the Development team
- Direct the Marketing Manager’s priorities and oversee optimal vendor relationships and savvy spending decisions
- Partner with operations and clinical leaders to achieve consistent and engaging client communication across all segments
- Become a valued teammate through results, integrity, dependability, and kindness
- Maximize existing resources while establishing a long-term plan and a growth budget for investments in pipeline, marketing, communications, and donor engagement.
Technology Requirements: Microsoft Office Suite, advanced social media sites and platforms; creative software and photography/video. Knowledge of web sites, SEO, and digital marketing systems. Ease with learning CRM (Raiser’s Edge) and analyzing data/building workflows.
Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Superb writer and communicator/content creator. Skilled time manager. Data-obsessed. Curious about stories, able to find them, pitch them, and share them. Ability to work well with diverse populations and personalities. Proven track record of establishing revenue goals and meeting or exceeding them.
The starting salary range for this position is $80k – $85k annually.
