Introduction to Orton-Gillingham for Upper Grades
The Orton-Gillingham (OG) Approach is the underlying foundation of all multisensory, structured literacy instruction. You will gain a basic understanding of the OG Approach and learn how to design integrated reading and spelling lessons for grades 3-12. You will leave class with a detailed guide for teaching suffixes, prefixes, Greek, and Latin roots. Reading and the Brain
This interactive course is designed for the Orton-Gillingham (OG) or Structured Literacy (SL) educator who already has a basic understanding of the structure of the English language and wishes to learn more about the neuroscience of reading. This workshop will cover progress monitoring, class-wide mastery criteria, and how to provide cumulative review as you progress through the Scope & Sequence.
