Amy Pyfrom, M.Ed, A/OGA
Instructor
Amy Pyfrom brings more than thirty years of experience as a special educator in a public school setting, teaching and nurturing the literacy skills of students of all ages and grade levels through high-quality reading instruction. Amy works directly with students to provide highly individualized, structured literacy instruction tailored to each student’s unique learning needs.
Amy also partners with students and families to design targeted learning plans to build literacy skills, foster independence, and strengthen self-confidence. She works collaboratively with school teams to guide instructional planning, support data-informed progress monitoring, and IEP development to ensure alignment of specialized instruction with students’ literacy goals.
In addition to the Orton-Gillingham Associate Level certification, Amy has a Bachelor of Science degree in History, Special Education, and Elementary Education from Nazareth College of Rochester, and a Master of Science in Education degree in Reading with a K-12 Certificate of Reading Specialization from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Throughout her career as an educator, she has earned an additional 30 graduate credits in assessment and evaluation, educational leadership, cognitive neuroscience, and training in a wide range of literacy-based instructional approaches. Her life’s work is dedicated to carefully designing and delivering individualized, high-quality literacy instruction to ensure successful outcomes for all students.
