Cassie Budzilek, M.A. CCC-SLP
Structured Literacy Coach
Cassie has been in the field of education for over 25 years as a speech-language pathologist and educational consultant. She earned both her B.A. and M.A. in Communication Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh, and Certificate of Competency in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Penn State University. Cassie holds an ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence and PA Teaching Certification. She has served as a speech-language pathologist in education and clinical settings prior to moving into a consultative role for the PA Training and Technical Assistance Network, or PaTTAN. After taking a year off to raise her son, she continued her consultative and training work at the Watson Institute. In this capacity, Cassie provided professional development training to district teams, parents and administrators to support their efforts in meeting the educational needs of all students. Part of this role was direct work in the classroom providing coaching and support to school staff. Cassie is passionate about literacy and has provided reading intervention to elementary, middle, and high school students utilizing Structured Literacy practices. She is also a National LETRS Professional Learning Facilitator.
