Lindsey Neves Baillargeron, M.Ed.
Instructor
Lindsey is a Massachusetts-certified reading specialist who recently taught Structured Literacy and the Humanities in the Sally Borden Program for students with language-based learning differences at Friends Academy in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Prior to her time working in a specialized program for students who have dyslexia and dysgraphia, Lindsey taught full inclusion English language arts at both the middle and high school in the North Attleborough Public School District in Massachusetts in addition to reading and writing courses to international students via Zoom. She is currently in her 16th year in education.
Lindsey graduated from The University of Rhode Island with a bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education in 2008, followed by a Master of Liberal Arts degree in English from the Harvard Extension School in 2015, and a Master of Education as a Specialist Teacher of Reading from Lesley University in 2024. She completed her Classroom Educator training through the Orton-Gillingham Academy with Sally Borden Connect and her Associate Level training through the Academy with the Hamilton Institute at The Wheeler School. She is in the process of earning her Associate credential and will complete her remaining coursework and practicum during the 2024-2025 school year.
Lindsey has seen first-hand how a structured, sequential, multisensory approach can transform learners and empower them to achieve greatness. She is particularly passionate about teaching Greek and Latin affixes and greatly enjoys showing students how they can break down words into smaller parts to figure out how to read, spell, or comprehend multisyllabic terms. She has always been fascinated by linguistics and etymology and finds great purpose and meaning in making language and literacy accessible to others.
Lindsey and her family live in Rhode Island where she spends her free time baking, gardening, and reading children’s books to her daughter and husky.
