Instructor
Rachel brings 16 years of dedicated experience in public education to her work at The Stern Center. A 2007 graduate of Saint Michael’s College, Rachel has spent the majority of her career focused on ELA and structured literacy. Her background includes 11 years as a classroom teacher and five years as a Literacy Coach and Interventionist.
A passionate advocate for the Science of Reading, Rachel has been implementing the Orton-Gillingham approach since 2014 and is certified at the Associate Level through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. She is driven by a mission to empower students who struggle with literacy, ensuring they don’t just improve their skills, but truly feel successful and confident in their abilities.
When she isn’t in the classroom, Rachel enjoys life in Vermont – spending time with friends and family, her partner, and their feisty orange cat, Duck.
