Session 1: Hard Truths, Trauma, and the Struggling Adolescent Reader
Participants will interact with pre-session materials focused on reading trauma. During this session, we will explore and discuss the sources and impacts of long-term reading struggles along with instructional practices and educator beliefs that could challenge or support struggling adolescent readers.

Session 2: (Re)Starting from the Beginning: Foundational Skills and the Adolescent Reader
Participants will interact with pre-session materials focused on foundational reading skills and the adolescent reader. During this session, we will explore and discuss assessment protocols that pinpoint the needs of struggling adolescent readers along with best practices for creating a classroom culture that encourages student goal setting and buy-in.
