Prevention & Early Intervention

Fundations®

Fundations is a multisensory and systematic phonics, spelling, and handwriting program that benefits all K–3 students. It makes learning to read fun while building a foundation for lifelong literacy. Each Fundations level-specific launch workshop provides the practice and guidance to begin teaching the Fundations curriculum effectively. Sign up to attend the workshop corresponding to the program level you’ll implement in your school.

Intervention

Just Words®

Just Words is a highly explicit, multisensory decoding and spelling program for students in grades 4–12 and adults who have mild-to-moderate gaps in their decoding and spelling proficiency but do not require intensive intervention. The program is designed for students with below-average decoding and spelling scores who can benefit from the targeted word study focus without requiring the more comprehensive intervention of the Wilson Reading System. Just Words aligns with MTSS and RTI frameworks and should be combined with other literature-rich programs.

Intensive Intervention

Wilson Reading System®

The Wilson Reading System (WRS) is an intensive intervention program for students in grades 2–12 and adults with language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia. We offer a Wilson Reading System Introductory Course and certification in the Wilson Reading System Level I, which works with even the most challenged reader. Level I certification is designed to prepare teachers to effectively implement WRS Steps 1–6 with students who are reading and spelling below grade level and those diagnosed with a language-based learning disability.

Wilson Reading System Training

Wilson Language Training and Wilson® Accredited Partners have received Accreditation Plus designation from the International Dyslexia Association® (IDA). This designation recognizes that Wilson Reading System® certifications align with the IDA’s Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading.

The Wilson® Difference

Highly Structured

Students work from sounds to syllables/base elements, words to sentences, and paragraphs to entire passages, learning through repetition and review.

Multisensory

Wilson’s interactive lessons fully engage students in the task at hand and reinforce knowledge and skills through sight, sound, movement, and touch!

Comprehensive

Wilson programs build a solid foundation for beginning learners, close the gap for struggling students, teach students with dyslexia, and meet states’ rigorous standards.

Research-Based

Wilson programs are based on reading research and cover all critical components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

What Teachers Have to Say

The course was very clear and easy to follow. It included good examples, and I liked how we had to create our own lesson.

Professional Learning Participant

I feel very blessed to be able to attend this training [and] reading practicum! My skills as a teacher are being challenged in a good way. Honestly, being able to grow as a teacher from such highly trained professionals has helped me stay positive in such a challenging year. I plan on continuing my training in using Wilson Reading. I aspire to become a trainer one day! Thank you for this opportunity.

Participant in Wilson Reading System Introductory Course

The instructor knew the information well and was able to explain ideas and concepts in easy-to-understand ways.

Professional Learning Participant

The presentation of the materials and content was easy to follow and allowed me to better understand the many components of the curriculum.

Professional Learning Participant

I loved the convenience of taking the course online. The instructor was very good and the information was so helpful. I will no doubt implement strategies from the course into my instruction.

Professional Learning Participant

I benefitted greatly from the demonstrations in the course, as well as the breakout rooms where we practiced each step.

Professional Learning Participant

I will be using the word-building activities with my students. This is a great way to help them transfer over to the Wilson program from their current program.

Professional Learning Participant

This workshop covered a LOT! It gave a good overview of everything.
